Link: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE66E4GT20100715 No doubts that living next to heavy traffic streets and highways is quite annoying. Almost unstoppable noises, pollution produce a lot of stress and health problems. I've noticed for myself that when I was living on extremely busy El Camino Real in San Mateo, California I always had nose congestions, allergy and daily headaches. But after I moved to small apartment in San Diego, just one block from Pacific Ocean and almost no traffic on my street, all my allergy, nose congestions and headaches disappeared almost instantly. "Living near traffic pollution tied to heart deaths" by Reuters Middle-aged and older adults who live near high-traffic roads may have a heightened risk of dying from heart disease but the odds seem to go down if they move to a less-traveled neighborhood, a new study finds. The findings do not prove that traffic pollution is the reason for the excess heart disease deaths, researchers say. But they do add to evidence tying vehicle-produced pollutants to the risk of dying from heart problems. In May, the American Heart Association (AHA) released a report stating that recent studies have "substantially strengthened" the evidence that air pollution from traffic, industry and power generation is a risk factor for heart attack, stroke and deaths from cardiovascular causes. The evidence most strongly points to particles known as fine particulate matter, which is produced from burning gasoline and other fossil fuels. The AHA recommends that people with established heart disease and other at-risk individuals -- including the elderly and people with risk factors for heart disease, like diabetes and high blood pressure -- try to limit their exposure to congested roadways and spend less time outside on days when air quality is poorer. For this latest study, Wen Qi Gan and colleagues at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, analyzed data on more than 450,000 Vancouver-area residents between the ages of 45 and 85. They found that over nine years, residents who consistently lived within roughly 500 feet of a highway or within 165 feet of a major road were more likely to die of heart disease than those who lived farther from high-traffic roadways. “Whoopi Goldberg has spoken out in defense of Mel Gibson, as a fourth alleged recording of the actor was released today.
‘I don't like what he did here, but I know Mel and I know he's not a racist,’ Goldberg said on U.S. talk show The View on Monday.
‘He may be a bonehead. I can't sit and say that he's a racist, having spent time with him in my house with my kids.’
Goldberg also questioned why Gibson's ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, would release the tapes on the Internet, through a showbiz website.
‘If someone is kicking your behind and punching you while you're holding your kid, you don't go to the cops first? You go to RadarOnline?’ she said…”

Everybody has said things in the heat of a moment, drunks and druggies say under influence things that they don’t mean and they are going to do it. When you watch “The Mexican” movie (2001) you see Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, both in love, but got crazy, ready to kill each other every half an hour even without being under influence. No doubts it’s completely unacceptable to use “N” words to offence African Americans. Oksana Grigorieva is 40 years old Russian, who was raised and educated in Russia and Soviet Union. There are no words in Russian language except “N” word referring to an African American or a black. The entire country population is respectfully using quite academic “N” word for centuries, which has no offensive and negative meaning at all. Mel Gibson needs professional assistance and some help. Link: http://www.newsyousee.com How to keep your teeth clean and white for $30-40 in year and feel greatI like strong tea and sometimes can drink it all day around, so no surprise that yellow teeth, stains and calculus became lately my big problem. I’ve spent a lot of money for regular, deep teeth cleaning. I’ve tried to cut cost by traveling to Mexico, which is 60 miles from my city and they do great one hour cleaning just for $30-40, but situation there has been deteriorated in last couple of years and now it’s quite easy to loose there all your teeth or even more. So I started looking for a new, sufficient and cheapest way to clean and may be whitening my teeth so I won’t be forced to spend every year $100-140 for quality teeth cleaning and many hundreds for whitening in dental offices. I wasn’t trying to create any new substances and I was using and checking out only teeth cleaning & whitening items freely available at drug and food stores. I don’t have any medical degree and no knowledge in dental areas, so I was just a regular guy looking for a reasonable solution, but my MS in physics was helpful in the planning and performing this research. I’ve tried different whitening toothpastes, teeth whitening substances from Scope, Act, Crest and many more without much success. They helped for sure to remove or discolor fresh stains, but didn’t remove heavy brown calculus, yellow teeth. After wide Internet researches and many, many tests I’ve found my magic recipe, which made my teeth perfectly clean and look naturally as they should. Now I can spend around $30-40 for an year and have my teeth spotless, naturally white and healthy. 02/06/10

Link: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1132754.html Goldstone wins human rights award from Sweden NGOs Richard Goldstone, the South African jurist and author of a controversial UN report which accused Israel and Hamas of committing war crimes during the Israel Defense Forces' military offensive in the Gaza Strip last winter, will receive the Stockholm Human Rights Award, it was announced on Thursday. "Richard Goldstone has made an outstanding career in the promotion of the rule of law and human rights, first in his home country South Africa and during the last fifteen years in various highly prestigious international fora," the International Legal Assistance Consortium, a Sweden-based umbrella group of non-governmental organizations which oversees the awarding of the prize, said on Thursday. The UN General Assembly endorsed the report last month and submitted it to the Security Council. The 192-member General Assembly adopted the resolution last month by a vote of 114-18, with others absent or abstaining. The resolution calls on the Security Council to act if either side fails to launch credible investigations within three months. The report on the Gaza war was drafted by an expert UN panel chaired by Goldstone, and concluded that both Israel and Palestinian militants committed war crimes and possible crimes against humanity. The harshly worded UN draft resolution, composed by Arab member states, has not been softened despite U.S. and European efforts. Polanski's new Prison Polanski persuaded Swiss authorities to end his two months of incarceration in a Swiss jail pending their decision on whether to extradite him to the U.S. in a 32-year-old sex case. Polanski's family had been waiting eagerly at the chalet, peeking out the windows to look for him as Swiss authorities worked out the last-minute details of his transfer. Just before 1 p.m., two police cars went straight into the garage, which has direct access to the house, then left twenty minutes later. Polanski was unseen behind the vehicles' tinted windows, but police told The Associated Press that he was inside. Read Full article at AskMen11/05/09

A man who failed to obey that principle found himself hurtling out of the cockpit, smashing through the Perspex canopy and into space after grabbing the black- and yellow-striped handle between his legs. He had inadvertently pulled the eject lever and found himself blasted 100 metres into the sky on his rocket-powered seat. The South African air force has confirmed the incident that took place last Wednesday, when the passenger took off for a flight with an experienced pilot from South Africa's Silver Falcons air display team. Investigators are assuming that the passenger tried to steady himself while the pilot was putting the Pilatus PC-7 Mk II through its paces by grabbing the eject lever. Read full article. Mystery continues to surround what happened to the ship, and the families of four crewmembers are still waiting for them to be allowed off the ship.On Aug. 16, the Russian naval frigate Ladny, armed with large cannons and anti-aircraft missiles, liberated the Arctic Sea from pirate control. The men who had hijacked the ship -- and most of its crew -- were flown to Moscow. The alleged hijackers are now in jail. Sergei Petruk one of the crewmembers would never have thought it possible that his crew could run into pirates in the Baltic Sea. "They were wearing black masks and jackets with 'polis' -- the Swedish word for police -- written on them," he recalls. "But I quickly realized that they weren't real police officers." The weapons the men were carrying were too shabby and worn to be used by the coast guard of a Western country, Petruk reasoned -- and they were Kalashnikovs. Besides, Petruk adds, the kidnappers spoke Russian when they contacted their accomplices in Moscow via radio. The hijackers were apparently on the lookout for a ship that was supposed to pick them up. But it never showed up. 10/09/09
